As everyone knows, I have been working aggressively on developing our own iOS app, our own Remote Online Notarization platform, and improving the Notary Ninjas platform overall. This is not just about building another notary website or another booking page. The ultimate goal is to create one unified platform where people can access necessary document-related services in one place and be easily connected to affordable remote notary services.
We are building around the idea that remote notary services should be simple, accessible, affordable, and connected to the real-life services people already need. That includes document translation, roommate agreement generation, apostille support, loan signing services, remote notary booking, and eventually our own complete RON platform. Instead of forcing people to jump between different websites, different vendors, and different service providers, we want Notary Ninjas to become the central place where clients can get help quickly and where notaries can connect with real opportunities.
We are also working with title agencies that have agreed to our new title agency payment structure. Under this structure, title agencies pre-pay for services in advance. Once the job is complete, the funds are released to the Notary Signing Agent immediately. No more chasing title agencies for checks. No more waiting weeks or months for payment. No more uncertainty after the work is already completed. More information about that is available here:
We are essentially redefining how clients, notaries, and signing agents connect.
iOS Mobile App
One of the biggest projects currently in development is our iOS mobile app. The idea behind the app is very simple: give users easy access to a remote notary. A client should be able to open the app, request service, book a remote notary session, and access related document services without confusion or unnecessary steps.
The current challenge is very technical. Our entire platform was originally built using PHP, C++, and MySQL as the backend database structure. That works very well for a web-based platform, but iOS does not work directly with MySQL the same way a traditional website does. For a real native mobile app, especially one that needs secure user accounts, appointment updates, mobile-friendly booking, real-time functionality, calendar integration, and future push notification support, Firebase is a better fit.
Our original plan was to do a complete SQL-to-Firebase migration. That is still part of the long-term direction, but a complete database migration is extremely time-consuming and has to be handled carefully. We cannot risk breaking the current platform, losing existing data, or disrupting active services.
Because of that, we created a faster transition solution called a PHP Firebase-MySQL bridge. In simple terms, this bridge allows the existing MySQL database and the newer Firebase structure to communicate with each other. The PHP side continues to work with the current platform and database, while selected information can be securely prepared, validated, and passed into Firebase for the mobile app to use. This allows us to move forward with iOS development without having to immediately rebuild the entire backend at once.
We initially submitted an iOS app, but it was rejected because the first version relied too heavily on WebView and did not include enough native iOS controls. Apple expects apps to feel and function like real apps, not simply websites wrapped inside an app shell. To correct that, we are rebuilding the app with a more native iOS experience after finalizing the Firebase bridge. The goal is to make the app faster, cleaner, more stable, and better suited for long-term mobile use.
Our Own RON Platform
We are also building our own Remote Online Notarization platform. The reason is simple: it is much more affordable and efficient for us, our clients, and our notaries to have a fully integrated system.
Most mainstream RON platforms take a significant percentage or add major fees to each remote notary session. That increases the cost for clients and reduces the earning potential for notaries. We believe that is unfair to both sides. Clients should not have to overpay for basic document notarization, and notaries should not have to lose a large portion of their earnings to third-party platforms.
By building our own RON platform, we can keep everything inside the Notary Ninjas ecosystem. That means better pricing, better control, better service, and a smoother experience for everyone involved. Clients will be able to access remote notary services directly through our platform, while notaries will be able to complete sessions through a system designed around fairness, compliance, and usability.
So far, we received the green light from every state that does not require specific platform certification, as long as the platform complies with each state’s remote notarization laws. These states include Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Compliance is a major part of this project. A real RON platform is not just a video call with a PDF upload. It must include proper identity verification, tamper-evident documents, audit logs, audio-video recording retention, electronic journal data, notary seal and signature handling, certificate wording, secure record storage, and proper record access or export when required.
One of the easier compliance pieces is third-party identity verification. For that, we can use Veriff. Veriff is an identity verification service that helps confirm that a signer is who they say they are. It can verify government-issued identification, compare identity documents, use liveness checks, and help detect fraud before the remote notarization proceeds.
The more complex side involves document security, audit trails, electronic journal requirements, audio-video storage, certificate wording, and platform-level compliance. These are the serious infrastructure pieces that separate a real RON platform from a basic video chat system.
Security is also a major focus. This is an area I know very well because I am also a cybersecurity professional. The Notary Ninjas platform already has a SOC 2, HIPAA, and MISMO compliance roadmap, and every line of code is being developed with security, privacy, auditability, and proper data handling in mind.
For Notaries
We are growing fast. In fact, we recently picked up two large corporations for their notary needs. Up until now, we did not have a full notary onboarding system. We only had a waiting list, and our network of notaries was growing slowly based on demand.
Now we are changing that approach for two major reasons: growth and SEO.
We created an online notary directory where notaries can have their own profile, receive visibility, and eventually gain access to platform opportunities. This directory is important because it helps create searchable content, improves our ranking in search engines, brings in more visitors, and ultimately creates more leads. More traffic means more clients. More clients means more demand. More demand means we can invite more notaries into the on-demand booking system.
The directory also gives notaries their own profile link. Clients will be able to directly book a specific notary through the platform if they choose to. Until a notary is invited into the on-demand lead system, they can still benefit from visibility, a professional profile, and direct booking opportunities.
For direct bookings through a specific notary profile, Notary Ninjas will not be involved in the notary session and will not ask for a cut. The purpose of the directory is to help notaries gain visibility while also helping the platform grow.
We are also adding online chat functionality. If a potential client wants to speak with someone, available notaries can connect with that lead through the platform. This creates a faster and more personal experience for clients while giving notaries another way to engage with potential business.
The on-demand notary portal and remote session assignment system will still remain invite-only as demand grows. This is intentional. If we add too many notaries into the on-demand system before there is enough volume, it creates an unfair economy where too many people are competing for too few assignments. We do not want that. We want to grow responsibly, based on actual demand.
Anyone who applies must also adhere to our high standards of service. Customer service is everything to us. Notaries on the platform must be professional, responsive, accurate, respectful, and reliable. Clients are often dealing with important legal, financial, medical, business, or personal documents. The notary experience matters.
All notaries are required to pay a one-time $15 fee to be listed in the directory for notaries and $20 for Certified Signing Agents. This fee covers the technical and administrative costs of validating each notary and maintaining the onboarding process. You can look at this as a small crowdfunding contribution toward a growing platform that is actively creating more demand for notarial services.
We are already receiving hundreds of visitors per day on our website, and once the iOS app is released, that traffic is expected to grow even more. The notary directory will also be available inside the app once the app is live.
For Title Agencies and Signing Agents
Another important part of our platform is the new title agency payment model. This was designed to solve one of the biggest problems Notary Signing Agents face: delayed payment.
Under our model, title agencies pre-pay for the signing service. Once the job is complete, the funds are released to the NSA immediately. This removes the need for signing agents to chase checks, send repeated follow-ups, or wait long periods of time to be paid for completed work.
This is a major improvement for signing agents. If the work is completed properly, payment should not become a separate battle. Our system is designed to create a more predictable, transparent, and fair process for everyone involved.
For title agencies, this also creates a cleaner workflow. The funds are already accounted for, the signing agent knows payment is secured, and the transaction can move forward with fewer problems.
Additional Services
We are also expanding the services connected to the platform. This includes document translation and our roommate agreement generator.
These tools are not random add-ons. They are part of the larger strategy. Many people who need document translation, roommate agreements, legal forms, affidavits, authorizations, or similar documents may also need notarization. By offering useful document tools, we create a natural path for people to access remote notary services when they need them.
The goal is to build an ecosystem where people can prepare, understand, generate, translate, and notarize documents through one connected platform.
The Bigger Picture
Everything we are building is connected. The iOS app, the Firebase bridge, the future full Firebase migration, the RON platform, the notary directory, the title agency payment model, online chat, document translation, roommate agreement tools, and remote booking system are all part of one larger vision.
That vision is to create a unified platform where clients can easily access the services they need and where notaries and signing agents can connect with real opportunities in a more transparent, efficient, and fair way.
We are not trying to copy existing platforms. We are building something better suited for clients, better suited for notaries, and better suited for the future of remote document services.
